FAC Principals
Dr. Anthony "Tony" Ingraffea, Ph.D. (Colorado, 1977), P.E. (Colorado, Texas and New York) has over 40 years of experience in structural mechanics. He is President of FAC, and the Dwight C. Baum Professor of Engineering Emeritus at Cornell University where he has co-authored with his students and research associates over 265 peer-reviewed papers in computational and experimental fracture mechanics, and directed over $37M in externally-funded research. Tony is the former Director of the Cornell Fracture Group.
Dr. Paul "Wash" Wawrzynek, Ph.D. (Cornell, 1991) has over 25 years of experience in computational fracture mechanics. He is Chief Technology Officer of FAC, is the principal author of the FRANC suite of codes, and specializes in turbo-machinery and aerospace structures. Wash was a long-time Senior Research Associate at Cornell University in the Cornell Fracture Group.
Dr. Bruce J Carter, Ph. D. (Manitoba, 1992), has over 25 years of experience in geomechanics and computational fracture mechanics. He is FAC's Principal Engineer, and specializes in simulation of crack growth in complex turbo-machinery components and in coupled fluid-fracture processes. Bruce was also a long-time Research Associate for the Cornell Fracture Group.
